I am a Consultant Paediatric Cardiologist with experience and expertise in managing all forms of cardiology problems in babies, children and young people up to 18 years of age.
I undertake specialist paediatric cardiology assessments for infants, children and teenagers with:
-
palpitations
-
chest pain
-
dizziness
-
heart murmurs
-
ADHD-related concerns and
-
suspected POTS.
If you are seeking clarity or reassurance about your child's symptoms, I can:
-
Provide answers quickly for you
-
Help you to understand what is really going on
-
Make sure you leave with a clear plan
If you have concerns or questions about your child's heart and you are looking for help, then please do come to see me at the Manor Hospital in Oxford.
What do I do?
I have several years of experience in assessing children where there is an overlap of symptoms, often between heart rhythm concerns, POTS, ADHD and autonomic dysfunction.
These are often misunderstood, often missed and many families feel that they are not listened to or are dismissed.
My role is to:
-
Offer a detailed, structured assessment
-
Listen to you
-
Work out what is going on
-
Give you a plan to act on.
About me
My first degree was in Biochemistry, followed by Medicine at Cambridge University.
I undertook training in paediatrics in the West Midlands and the Oxford Deanery. I became a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2007.
My training in Paediatric Cardiology began in Oxford, followed by training on the national training programme in Leicester, Birmingham Children's Hospital and the Evelina London Children's Hospital, where I undertook a Fetal Cardiology fellowship whilst continuing my training in general paediatric cardiology.
I have been an NHS Consultant in Paediatric Cardiology since the end of 2017 and work at the highly respected Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Common reasons parents see me:
-
'My child feels faint or dizzy when standing'
-
'We've been told my child has a heart murmur - what does that mean?'
-
'My child gets really bad chest pain'
-
'My child has a racing heart'
-
'I think my child may have POTS'
-

I don't yet have fixed clinic days - we're setting them up all the time - so get in touch if you would like to see me and we'll set up an appointment as soon as we can.
